Campbell & Company named CI employeer of the year
Columbia Industries recently named Campbell & Company of Pasco as Employer of the Year for their support and job mentoring program for Jason Timmons, a CI client.
In July 2009, Campbell & Company took the initiative and contacted CI for someone to fill a new recycling position in their maintenance department.
The hired Timmons, and have embraced and supported him so he can be truly successful.
Also, instead of cutting his work schedule during slow times, Campbell & Company found alternative work for Timmons to keep him employed throughout the year, not just seasonally.
Campbell & Company also goes out of their way to assist in evaluating people who are hoping to enter the working world by performing assessments in partnership with CI.

Apple Cider makes comeback in Washington
TIETON -- If there's one thing Marcus Robert wants people to know about his cider, it's that the brew is nothing like Mike's Hard Lemonade.
"People who've never tried cider think it's overly sweet," said Robert, 31, cider maker for Tieton Cider Works. "In reality, real cider is almost a champagne style. It's dry and crisp."
Tieton Cider Works formed in 2008 and began selling cider the following year. The company's products are available throughout Washington, Oregon and California, mirroring the industry's expansion throughout the Northwest.
Call center in Pasco to close
West Corporation is closing its Pasco call center this fall.
The impending closure was announced to the international corporation's 100 Tri-City employees last week, about a month after 30 percent of the workers were laid off.
The clients served at the Pasco location were receiving fewer calls, said Dave Pleiss, the corporation's vice president of investor relations and marketing.
